All students eat FREE for the 2025-2026 School Year!
All students will receive free breakfast and lunch meals during the 2025-2026 school year. Our district has met the requirements to participate in the Community Eligibility Provision, eliminating the need for household free & reduced meal applications.
This will ensure all students have access to quality, nutritious meals, providing them with the proper nutrition to succeed!

USDA Nondiscrimination Statement
In accordance with Federal civil rights law and U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) civil rights regulations and policies, the USDA, its Agencies, offices, and employees, and institutions participating in or administering USDA programs are prohibited from discriminating based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, disability, age, marital status, family/parental status, income derived from a public assistance program, political beliefs, or reprisal or retaliation for prior civil rights activity, in any program or activity conducted or funded by USDA (not all bases apply to all programs). Remedies and complaint filing deadlines vary by program or incident.
Persons with disabilities who require alternative means of communication for program information (e.g., Braille, large print, audiotape, American Sign Language, etc.) should contact the State or local Agency that administers the program or contact USDA through the Telecommunications Relay Service at 711 (voice and TTY). Additionally, program information may be made available in languages other than English.
To file a program discrimination complaint, complete the USDA Program Discrimination Complaint Form, AD-3027, found online at How to File a Program Discrimination Complaint and at any USDA office or write a letter addressed to USDA and provide in the letter all of the information requested in the form. To request a copy of the complaint form, call (866) 632-9992. PUBLIC MEDIA RELEASE
NATIONAL SCHOOL LUNCH/SCHOOL BREAKFAST PROGRAMS
By participating in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) and eliminating the need for meal
applications, Whitfield County Schools will reduce administrative and printing costs. Families also
benefit from the elimination of completing and submitting meal applications.
Children need healthy meals to learn. Whitfield County Schools offers healthy meals every school
day at no charge to your child(ren). Our food service receives support from the U.S. Department of
Agriculture through the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs.
The following schools will be participating in this alternative provision and provide meals at no
charge to children:

Civil Rights Complaint Procedure
- USDA Civil Rights Complaint forms will be available in every school cafeteria and the School Nutrition Program (SNP) office.

The “And Justice for All” poster will be visible to customers in the cafeteria and at other points of service (such as a classroom) when students do not come into the cafeteria.

The School Food Authority (SFA) will receive civil rights complaints in written or verbal form. Persons wishing to make a written complaint will be provided the USDA Complaint form. A complainant may also be directed to the USDA online complaint form. If a verbal complaint is made, the SFA staff member receiving the verbal allegation will transcribe the complaint onto the USDA complaint form.

Complaints will be forwarded as they were written or described within five working days of receipt to the Food Nutrition Service (FNS) Regional Civil Rights Director (CRD) or the USDA Office of Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights.

A copy of the complaint will be sent to the Georgia Department of Education School Nutrition Division (GaDOE SND) Area Consultant.
-
The SFA will cooperate in the resolution of the complaint as directed by FNS CRD and/or GaDOE SND.
-
A copy of any correspondence regarding the complaint will be maintained for at least five years after the date the complaint is closed.
-
A confidential record of civil rights complaints will be kept separate from program complaints. The Civil Rights Complaint log will record the following:
a. Complainant name
b. Contact information
c. Location
d. Nature of complaint
e. Verbal or written complaint
f. Date of the alleged discrimination
g. Name of the individual(s) and organization(s) alleged to have engaged in discrimination
h. Date of referral to the FNS CRD
i. Findings of any investigation by the FNS
j. Description of the final disposition of the complaint, including any corrective action planned or taken. -
All school nutrition program staff will receive annual training about how to handle civil rights complaints. This is in addition to the required Civil Rights training outlined in the Free and Reduced-Price Policy.

Charge Policy
Student Meals
Breakfast and lunch meals are provided free of charge to all Whitfield County Schools students through the Community Eligibility Provision. Extra meals and a la carte items may be purchased, but cannot be charged without sufficient funds in the student's account.
Adult Meals
All adult and guest meals are to be paid in advance or at the time the meal is selected.

Whitfield County Schools Nutrition Department is excited to offer a new prepay system online with
LINQ Connect
This new payment option will not replace cash and check payments, but is an additional payment option for your convenience. Features offered by the online solution are:
- See your student’s meal balance at anytime from anywhere
- Deposit payments for multiple students in just one click
- Setup recurring payments for monthly or weekly deposits
- Reviewing individual student meal histories
- Automated notifications via email or text when your student’s balance falls below the amount you choose
Pay by Cash
Place money into an envelope, seal, and include the following information on the envelope front:
1. Your child’s first and last name
2. Teacher’s name
3. Grade
4. Student ID Number
Pay by Check
Please make checks payable to the school your child attends. It is advisable to use separate checks if you are paying for more than one child to ensure that the correct amount is credited to each child’s account. Please be sure all the following information is included on the check:
- Adult Name
- Physical Address
- Telephone Number
- Your child’s first and last name and ID Number
All checks deposited into the school nutrition bank account that fail to clear the bank are returned to Checkredi collection service. The check writer’s account will be debited electronically for the amount of the NSF check. The check writer is also liable for a state allowed collection fee.

Please make money order payable to the school and include:
- School’s Name
- Your child’s first and last name
- ID Number

Summer Nutrition
SUMMER NUTRITION
The Summer Nutrition Program will begin June 2, 2025, and go through July 25, 2025. Meals will be served every Monday through Friday, excluding July 4. With this program, children 18 and under can receive free meals during summer vacation. No registration. No fee. Children must be present to receive meals.

Wellness
The Whitfield County Board of Education recognizes that student wellness and proper nutrition are related to students’ well-being, growth, development, and readiness to learn. The Board is committed to providing a school environment that promotes and protects student wellness, proper nutrition, nutrition education, and regular physical activity as part of the total learning experience. In a healthy school environment, students will learn about and participate in positive dietary and lifestyle practices that can improve student achievement.
